T is for Thread
woven
interwoven
connected
tangled
entwined
but also
left dangling
loose strands
come undone
pick up the thread and follow it
As I get closer to having a child of my own, I'm wondering about my own mother and what she was thinking or feeling when she chose to have me. There are few photos of her pregnant, and her own recollections of that time are fuzzy. She kept no diary at that time and certainly didn't have a blog. It occurs to me that my children, also destined to be digital natives, might have the option when they are older to find my old blog posts on the Internet, to pick up those threads that I left there, and to follow them to an approximation of who I was at this time in my life.
And so today
I stand on this end
threads in hand
perhaps to be picked up
on a future someday
by a future someone
